Life Updates & Announcement

I had big plans for 2013! I have a huge to do list and so many unfinished projects just waiting to be done. I am learning, however that sometimes life just gets in the way. I am sure you guys have noticed that I haven't been posting as much as I would like. The past few months have been a bit rough and I am finally going to explain why. I have shared before how we would love to have more children and how heartbreaking that process has been. In February I found out I was once again expecting. I was nervous and so scared considering what my last experience was like (I shared that here). For the first 14 or so weeks I was quite sick. I am not sure if it was the progesterone injections or just general morning sickness but it was hard to get out of bed because I was so dizzy and nauseous. I was also told to take it easy because they were concerned about my cervix. I am high risk and was sent to high risk perinatologists 4 1/2 hours away for check ups every 2 weeks. That has led me to be out of town a lot. Last week during an ultrasound they found that my cervix was indeed thinning and funneling quite a bit and we discussed my past history and options with my drs. We decided that doing a cerclage (stitching my cervix shut) was the best option to keep our baby.
I went in for surgery on thursday and am now on bedrest. I feel at peace with the decision and am hopeful we will be successful in keeping this baby to term. I am also hopeful that I won't have to be on complete bedrest the rest of my pregnancy...time will tell. So long story short...I am disappointed while looking around at all my blog plans and fun projects yet to be completed that I know will continue to be on the back burner. Yet I know that my first priority is my little baby. I plan to keep blogging...but I doubt I will be around much. I know that I need to rest, take it easy, and focus on what matters most. I just wanted to give you all a heads up and let you know why I have been so absent. I hope you'll continue to join me for Crafty Tuesdays and I hope that I will still have fun posts here and there to share. :) Oh and if you were curious I am 19 weeks so I still have a ways to go.

The worst part of decorating...

The worst part of decorating. Taking it all down! We got back from our Christmas vacation but my son and myself were both sick so I am finally getting around to putting things away today. Here is how I am spending my day. Can you I-spy two of my Christmas gifts I have yet to put away?
Let me help:
My mom gave me a new Bosch mixer! I have a kitchen aid, but this baby is going to blow it away! I am so excited! I love using my Mom's mixer whenever I go home and now I have one of my own. I am super excited. Now I just have to find somewhere in my kitchen for it to call home. Also, I finally got a silhouette! I received some wonderful gifts...and had fun watching others open what I gave them! It is so fun to surprise others!

Anyways, I will be back with another printable for our home binder this week. :)

I'm back and getting a little personal

First off, I finally got internet yesterday! It feels like its been such a long time.  I plan to be back with more free printables and fun projects I'm doing around our new house. (Not to mention that I have 1000's of blog posts I subscribe to in google reader to catch up on that probably won't happen!)

However, I thought I would take a minute to tell you what's going on in my head and some experiences I have gone through lately. I try not to get too personal, but I felt I should share for whatever reason. WARNING: This may be a little graphic so be warned!

Back at the end of March I wasn't feeling so great. I decided to take a pg test which turned up positive. This was a shock for us. For 1, we struggle with infertility and this was truly out of the blue, secondly with the cross country move, graduation, job change...it was just so much going on at once. I was overwhelmed, I was nervous. I didn't understand why this was happening then and I was completely overwhelmed. I just knew that this baby must be meant to come to us at this time. So for the next 3 months I was sick. I spent most of May not even able to get out of bed. We had an ultrasound at 10 weeks and everything looked good. My two previous miscarriages the baby had stopped developing at 8 weeks so this was a good sign! At the beginning of June I started to feel a little better and had my 14 week appointment, heartbeat and everything was still good. We finally felt like this miracle was meant to be despite the timing of everything all going on at once. Fast forward to the end of June, 2 days before our move. I was 16 1/2 weeks and excited that we were going to be finding out the sex of the baby soon. My husband was out of town for 24 hrs flying back West to take a licensing exam for his new job. I got up and everything seemed normal. I took my son to the local free movie theatre and then we got back around 11. I went to the bathroom and something strange happened. I felt what seemed to be a water balloon. I knew this wasn't normal and started panicking. I called my mom who lived on the other side of the country and was freaking out. She told me I needed to go to the hospital and call someone to go with me since I was alone. I couldn't make sense of my thoughts but I knew I needed help. I called a friend from church who immediately came and picked me and my son up and took us to the ER. On the way, my water broke(the balloon I felt) and I started bleeding a lot. I got settled in the ER and was still bleeding a lot but no other symptoms, no cramping, no pain, nothing! My friend arranged for someone to come get my son and take him to play for the day. I spent the day in the ER with tests, exams, ultrasound. Finally, many hours later, I was told that the ultrasound showed the baby was alive, but there was no amniotic sack or fluid. They don't see this often and didn't know what to do. The OB on call referred me to a local specialist and my friend drove me over there. I went in and they did another ultrasound. They told me that at this point the baby was in the birth canal and they could only get a pic of its head and at this point, a baby cannot survive, there is nothing they can do. The specialist came in and told me since the baby was on its way down that he recommended we do a d&c right in his office and that it would save me from having to go be re-admitted to the hospital and put under for the procedure. It was the worst 45 minutes of my life. Painful physically but emotionally horrid. My friend drove me home after and we picked up my son. He didn't know what was going on. He didn't even know I was pg, we were waiting until after we found out the gender to tell him. At this point, I didn't want him to feel the pain of the loss so we didn't tell him. He is 5 1/2 and always wonders why we don't have any babies come to our house. He doesn't understand. My mom caught the first flight out and got there at 9pm and my husband got back at 10pm. Thank heavens for mothers, she saved me. She took care of me and cleaned my house and helped us move. I know we could have pushed off the move, but I just wanted to leave that place of so much pain. I still can't believe how my life changed so much in a matter of hours. We thought we were in the clear, we just KNEW this baby was coming for a reason. I still don't understand it all.  I still break down, my baby is gone.

We moved in our new house and while we were excited, there is still a feeling of shattered dreams and plans. The "nursery" will now be something different. Baby items we had unearthed in the move were taken right back down in the storage where they have been for years. Before the move, I had added my maternity clothes to my wardrobe box certain I would be needing them soon after we moved. It was difficult to look at them as I unpacked and had to tuck them back away in their storage tote.

Why am I sharing this? I don't know really. This is me. This is about as real as it gets. Maybe it will help you all know me a little better. What have I learned from all this? I have found tender mercies from the Lord, we were blessed even during this dark time.

Frankly, I don't understand why this happened at all and I don't think I ever will. I always believed things happened for a reason, now I can't say that I do. I think sometimes things just happen, hearts get broken and sometimes there is nothing anyone can do about it. I am grateful to my Savior for being my comforter. I am grateful that I have a healthy son who I love more than anything, I am blessed to have him. So many don't even get to experience being a parent at all and I know I am blessed.

Anyways, thats what's happened since I last posted. I'll be back soon with more uplifting and fun projects to share. Luckily, I have lots of things I was saving away to upcycle before our move and it is fun to have those to keep me busy. I'll be sure to share.

Anniversary Surprise

Can I just say my husband is awesome? Our 9 year anniversary is next month but with everything we have going on we might not have time to celebrate it, so my husband surprised me on Saturday with an anniversary date. I was so surprised, he got a babysitter and set it all up and I had no idea. At first I was a little annoyed he didn't tell me, after all my house was a mess! LOL, we had dinner and then went driving towards downtown for a "carriage ride" he said. When we got there, he handed me a card, it was actually concert tickets to my most favorite singer ever!! George Strait! Okay, so I am huge fan!!! Plus, the show also included Reba and she is great too. I was so excited as we parked and walked to the event center. We got inside and walked down to our seats...they were so close to the stage! I got to be like 15 feet away from King George! They didn't let me take my camera in so I don't have any good pics, just a few blurry blown out phone pics.
Oh well...at least its a night I will never forget. I have only attended 2 George concerts...but I hope that he'll keep touring so I can attend more. It was so amazing and I am even more impressed that my dh put so much thought into this. Especially because I know he would have rather spent the money somewhere else but he did it all for me. He "gets" me. The show was fantastic, minus the wasted middle age woman sitting near us. Of course she was pretty amusing to watch, even when she fell down the stairs...I know, I shouldn't have laughed, but if your going to get that trashed in public you should probably expect to get laughed at it. And she even got up and laughed :) Even the next day we woke up and laughed at the hangover she was going to have. :)  The best anniversary EVER!

Cookies and Stuff

Can I just say I don't Love valentines day? I like making decorations though and since having my little boy I take any reason to celebrate because kids get excited over anything! Anyways, one of the traditions in my family is to always make heart shape sugar cookies. This year my boy loved it! He did however decide to make his hearts into "ocean" creatures. Can u tell who decorated what?
Those just make me giggle. We have spent the afternoon getting ready for our family valentine dinner. I am slowly getting things together.
Nothing too fancy. Just a little different than our normal family dinners. Now I just have to finish the food!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day! I spent the last week sick in bed. Not to mention I had this problem twice last week:
I was pretty grouchy about it. Nothing is worse then finally getting ready when you feel crappy and then run out to do some errands and your tire is flat! Not to mention my 4 year old and I sat in the tire store for 2 hours without toys. He was such a good boy though, just one more reminder that I am lucky to have such a good kid. Okay back to the story, hopefully now after spending almost $1000 on 4 new tires and having them properly put on we are good to go. Here's to a better week, I am feeling slightly better and have some fun things to post.
I'll be back later today to share my St. Patty's printables. I have had them done for a while but didn't want to crowd valentine's day...but frankly I am ready for a new holiday! Now I'm going to make meatballs to simmer in the crockpot as part of our family "candlelight" dinner. Yeah, we celebrate v-day as a family because otherwise we wouldn't celebrate it all. :)

p.s. yeah my car needs a wash badly. everytime i wash it it rains though and spots it up again! lol

Welcome back to reality!

Well, my flight got in about 11:30pm last night and here I am back in reality. I wish I could say I feel refreshed and ready to go. Frankly...I feel overwhelmed! Just lots to catch up on. I wish I could say that I had the house in order when I left in December. It was fairly clean...but I usually put our Christmas decor up and away before we head out since I know dh won't do it while we are gone and I ran out of time. Now its on my list to do today as well.

Here's whats on my docket for the next few days:
Unpack (here is what is lurking in my living room)
Go through the mail (I've actually already went through this some...but this is what I have left.)
Put away Christmas Decor & tree
Buy groceries (that's todays big job...dh has been living on take-out and cereal!)

Do laundry
Unplog the clog in our shower/tub drain (that's a fun suprise to come home and find.)
Hopefully my energy will hold out today and I can get this place back into shape!
Also, I have something super cute to share with ya'll tomorrow!

Recovering

Wow, I still feel like I am recovering from Halloween! Today is going to be a busy day as well, school pictures for my little preschooler (they grow so fast!). I kept going back and forth, do I really need a preschool picture of him? Is it worth the money when I take all his pictures anyways, and school pictures are never THAT good right? Well, for sentimentality I think I will get some. Gotta mark the milestones!

After I drop him off I'm going to
