Cleaning Schedule for your Week

Today I am sharing this Fabulous Weekly Cleaning Schedule. You will love this free printable cleaning schedule!

Remember last week I mentioned Daily Quick Clean? Go here for a refresher. The next step in my cleaning system is the Weekly Cleaning Schedule. When you get the idea of the daily quick clean down, it takes a lot of pressure off "cleaning day". It helps maintain your home so that the time consuming cleaning jobs are minimized. In turn, following the weekly schedule helps the daily jobs stay minimal and they both balance each other out so that you're not spending all day (hopefully) cleaning  but still being able to enjoy a clean home. In my household, I am able to keep most of my days free of major cleaning, but I do have some of the bigger jobs scheduled out that just have to be done. Now, if you have a major disaster like spilled juice all over the kitchen, you'll have to modify this, but as a general plan this is a great guideline! I love to wake up knowing what needs to be done and also knowing that it isn't too overwhelming. That way I can get up and do my "chore" for lack of a better word and my day is still open to craft, spend time with my son, go shopping, etc. This is my schedule. This works for us and I know needs differ in every family. Occasionally, I go through my cleaning schedule and revise to what needs to get done.

Tissue Balls

I am planning my little Halloween get-together decor. I am going to be using the banner I made here. I am going to be sharing my decor step by step up until Halloween so keep checking the blog. I am super excited for my final project. Today I wanted to make tissue balls. I had some halloween tissue and so I went to work making them. I can't wait to do these for a baby shower sometime! They are so dang easy and quick to make. I made some large ones. I plan to make some smaller ones too by cutting the tissue in half. This one I will show isn't as full as I would like. I only had 5 pieces of tissue left and I think it would be cuter with more, maybe like 7 or so. Its still cute though.
Start with tissue paper. For this one that is large I didn't cut the tissue. I left it full size and just unfolded it, keeping it stacked together.
Then starting with the shorter side, start folding like an accordian. Mine already had a fold that was about 1 inch so I used that as a guide. You'll be folding the short side all the way until it is stacked like below.
When its all accordian folded, I tried some thread to wrap around and it kept breaking, so I got a little bit of craft wire and wired it around, careful not to tear the tissue.
After I had the wire wrapped around the center, I cut the ends of the tissue for some flare.
At this point I doubled over some thread and tied it around the center of the wire where the paper was gathered. I tied it a few times, and left some slack of thread to use when hanging the final product.
After that, just start pulling the tissue outward from from the fold gently. Pulling too tough will tear it, believe me I did it! (luckily it doesn't show!)
Fan it out layer by layer until you have it in the ball shape covering the middle. Hang and enjoy! I can't wait to show you these in my final layout! One more piece of my Party decor done!

A Touch of Fall

I finally took some pictures of my fall decor to share. I am not huge into Halloween. I like it, I do a little party, but I tend to steer away from the gore and keep it more fall-ish. I like that these decorations last me for a couple months until I am ready to pull out Christmas! Here are a few of my little touches. I don't have much extra space so I try and use what I already display and just add fall to it.
A touch of garland for the candlesticks.
Notice below that the one candlestick just has a little piece of berries that I twisted into a circle and set on top of the candlestick. I think its pretty cute!

Bowl of gourds
My harvest blocks. Lovin' those. Made them a few years ago and am always excited to pull them out each year.
Fall garland I have intermixed with the greenery already up on my entertainment center.
Wood pumpkins that I also have on top of my entertainment center. Aren't they cute?
I have 2 shelves in my kitchen. I tried to add a few things to make them fall-ier. :)
Love the wheat below! I found it last year on clearance at hancock fabric.
I am not a huge outdoor decorator. We only have a small porch and we are planning to move across the country again next summer so we are trying to keep it simple. However, I knew I had to get some mums. Nothing says fall here like mums! Aren't these gorgeous with the 2 tones? I planted them last week so they aren't super full yet, but I still love them.
Top off the porch with the pumpkins we went and picked at the pumpkin patch last Friday. I don't know why but there is just something super fun about going out into the field and finding the "perfect" pumpkin for your family.
Just one last thing...Yeah, this is what is happening to some of my decor. I am finding my gourds all over my house. My son likes to 'decorate' with them. Kids are fun. :)
