Monthly Deep Cleaning

This is the final step of my scheduled cleaning system. I talked about daily & weekly, and now I will cover monthly. These are tasks that don't need to be done that often, some I don't even do every month. Its just a guideline and gives me a starting point to know what needs to be done. I did have this listed 12 times(for each month) on the same sheet with a checkoff box, (I can share that if you want) but I just didn't use it. I don't have a set "monthly deep clean day", its more of a reference for when I am looking to do a little extra or have some free time for cleaning. I kind of just do these tasks as they are needed. They aren't too messy of tasks, but are necessary for home maintenance. Here is my "monthly" schedule.

 

You can see I have listed organize 1 closet, for me it helps to go through and re-organize a closet(or drawer!) every now and again. I can't face all our closets in 1 day, breaking it up is more manageable! I also would try and organize our garage once a month, but right now in the house we are renting we have no garage. That makes storage and organization for me a bit trickier!

Antique & Flea Market Finds

I went to an antique store yesterday and found a beautiful chippy white old window. I didn't take a pic of the window yet. I love it, but I am not sure where to put it. So for now, it is in my basement. I also found these dried flowers. Are they gorgeous or what? There was a bunch of dried lavender I will have to get the next trip. I picked up this old liquor bottle at the flea market recently. I love it, we had one in our house growing up that we put change in. I always would take it and play like it was my genie bottle. :) (I loved I dream of genie re-runs)I love finding these little touches with meaning to me. I put the flowers in this pitcher I bought at Hobby Lobby a few years ago that goes in my bedroom. I love it!

Recovering

Wow, I still feel like I am recovering from Halloween! Today is going to be a busy day as well, school pictures for my little preschooler (they grow so fast!). I kept going back and forth, do I really need a preschool picture of him? Is it worth the money when I take all his pictures anyways, and school pictures are never THAT good right? Well, for sentimentality I think I will get some. Gotta mark the milestones!
